This Collection Notice describes how we collect and use California consumers' personal information and applies to all our websites (collectively, “Site”) and Services owned and operated by Edvisors. The term "Services," means any services, transactions, or other engagements you might have with Edvisors. This Collection Notice is for California consumers only, and does apply to California applicants, employees, or independent contractors.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
As you use our Site and Services, we may collect personal information that may identify, relate to, describe, reference, be capable of being associated with, or reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device (“Personal Information”). We may collect the following categories of Personal Information:

We also collect certain types of Personal Information that is considered sensitive under the CPRA (“Sensitive Personal Information”). We may collect the following categories of Sensitive Personal Information:

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES OR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES
We may use or disclose Personal Information we collect for "business purposes" or "commercial purposes" (as defined under CPRA), including, but not limited to, for:
(a) Auditing Interactions with Consumers. For example, monitoring traffic to our Site, auditing related to a current interaction with you and concurrent transactions, including, but not limited to, counting ad impressions to unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing for legal and regulatory compliance.
(b) Security. For example, maintaining the safety, security, and integrity of our Site, products and Services, databases and other technology assets and our business, including preventing fraud, detecting security breaches and prosecuting violators, and responding to law enforcement requests and meeting requirements of applicable law, court order, or governmental regulations.
(c) Debugging/Repair. For example, identifying and repairing errors in our Site and Services functionality.
(d) Short-term Advertising. For example, ad customization.
(e) Performing Services. For example, creating, maintaining, customizing and securing your account with us, processing your RewardFish or ScholarshipPoints transactions, hosting our Site, fulfilling activities, managing databases, performing analyses, marketing services such as managing promotions and contests. Also, establishing and maintaining your rewards account, and providing you with opportunities (and/or in the furtherance of on-going opportunities) for you to earn rewards or other benefits through our consumer rewards services. Such opportunities may include cashback shopping, offers, surveys, search, watching video and other online and offline activities. In addition, we collect and use Personal Information in order to provide and share such information with selected service providers, such as research firms, advertising networks, internet service providers, data analytics providers, government entities, operating systems and platforms, social networks, and consumer data resellers who use the Personal Information to provide services to us or on our behalf.
(f) Internal Research for Tech Development. For example, testing, research, analysis, and product development, including to develop and improve our Site and Services.
(g) Quality and Safety Maintenance and Verification. For example, improving, upgrading or enhancing our products, Services or Site, and verifying the quality or safety of our Site or Services.
(h) Other Commercial Purposes Reasonably Aligned with Consumer Expectations. For example, as described to you when collecting your Personal Information such as for promotions or contests, or to evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, in which Personal Information we hold is among the assets transferred.
We use Sensitive Personal Information for purposes described above and use or disclose it for purposes beyond those allowed in 11 Cal. Code of Regs. § 7027(m).
If we collect additional categories of Personal Information or use the Personal Information we collect for additional purposes other than those described above, we will update our Privacy Policy and this Collection Notice.
PERSONAL INFORMATION SELLING OR SHARING
We sell and/or share Personal Information to third parties who are not our service providers such as advertisers, third-party marketing research companies, consumer data resellers, providers of education financing and educational services, and others as more fully described in our Privacy Policy. RETENTION
We retain your Personal Information for as long as needed or permitted considering the purpose(s) for which it was obtained. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include (i) for as long as we have an ongoing relationship with you; (ii) as required by a legal obligation to which we are subject to; or (iii) as advisable in light of our legal position (such as in regard of applicable statutes of limitations, litigation, or regulatory investigations). We also may retain your Personal Information for a period of time after our relationship with you has ended where there is an ongoing business need to retain it. This includes retention to comply with our legal, regulatory, tax, and/or accounting obligations. Generally, we retain Personal Information for a period of time after our relationship with you has ended, but the term for which we retain your Personal Information may be longer or shorter depending on our relationship with you. We do so in accordance with our data retention policies and applicable law.
COLLECTION NOTICE CHANGES
This Collection Notice is subject to change. We encourage you to review this Collection Notice frequently for any revisions or amendments. Changes to this Collection Notice will be posted on our Site (for example, at https://www.edvisors.com/notice-of-collection/) and will be effective immediately upon posting. You will be deemed to have been made aware of and have accepted the changes by your continued use or our Site or Services. If we determine that a change to this Collection Notice will result in using your Personal Information acquired before the change in a materially new way, we will provide you notice before using your Personal Information in the new way.
